The Swiss countryside and Lucerne

We stayed in the small town of Huttwil, Switzerland.  The hotel was a bit far out there, but it was absolutely beautiful- probably one of my favorite places we visited throughout the entire trip.  We wound up taking a walk one evening just before sundown.  This place was the perfect antidote to chaotic Paris.

The hotel, the Kleiner Prinz, was AWESOME.

Lucerne itself is famous for a couple of things, one of them being the Lion Monument.  Depicting a dying lion, it commemorates the Swiss who were massacred during the French Revolution.

Lucerne is also well-known for the Chapel Bridge.  Spanning the Reuss River, it's the oldest wooden bridge in Europe.
